Class Description

This 8-hour course is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge to conduct passive reconnaissance on targeted businesses using various techniques. While some Linux and scripting abilities may be helpful, most of the techniques can be performed from a browser. We have revised this course to remove duplicate material and add walkthroughs and labs to enhance your learning experience.

Throughout the course, you'll learn about a range of passive reconnaissance techniques, including:

•       DNS enumeration to gather information about the target's DNS infrastructure

•       Social media reconnaissance to identify employees, partners, and customers

•       Public filings to gather information from regulatory authorities and public records

•       Search engine reconnaissance to find information about the target's online presence

•       Some of the leading intelligence tools used for reconnaissance

To get the most out of this advanced course, it is recommended that you have some prior knowledge, comprehension, and experience with intelligence or OSINT. While no accounts are explicitly needed, having social media accounts (real or fake) to follow along with may enhance your learning experience.

By the end of this course, you'll have the practical skills and knowledge to conduct effective passive reconnaissance on targeted businesses, enabling you to gather valuable information for intelligence or security purposes. Whether you're in law enforcement, security, or performing OSINT, this course will help you achieve your goals more effectively.

Prerequisites

This is an advanced course that assumes some knowledge, comprehension, and experience with Intelligence or OSINT. No accounts are explicitly needed, although having social media accounts (they do not have to be your real account nor do they need to be fake [Sock] accounts) to follow along with will not hurt. Students having taken another course from The OSINTion are more likely to benefit from the material in this course. First-time students seeking initial foundational instruction about Intelligence are advised to take The OSINTion's Accelerated Introduction to Intelligence course first.
