Class Description

The Introduction to Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Investigations course is a comprehensive 4-hour course designed to provide students with a solid foundation in cryptocurrency investigations. The course starts with an overview of key definitions and concepts associated with cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. Students will learn about cryptography, cryptanalysis, and the basic principles of blockchain technology, as well as an introduction to non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

 

The course then dives into the world of cryptocurrency exchanges and regulations, providing a thorough understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks surrounding the cryptocurrency ecosystem. Students will learn about the different types of cryptocurrencies and address structures, as well as how to identify and track cryptocurrency transactions.

 

Finally, the course covers the essential tools, techniques, and resources needed to conduct effective cryptocurrency investigations using free and open-source tools. By the end of this course, students will have a strong understanding of the fundamentals of cryptocurrency investigations and will be able to apply this knowledge in their day-to-day work.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this course, although some prior knowledge of cybersecurity and investigations would be helpful.
