Class Description

The Regular Expressions (REGEX) for Intelligence course is designed to help students gain a solid foundation in using regular expressions in their day-to-day work, whether it is programming, cybersecurity, digital forensics, or intelligence analysis. The course begins with an overview of what regular expressions are and where they come from, then dives into the mechanics of regular expressions, including operators and logic. Students will also learn how to use regular expressions in Python and will have the opportunity to practice writing their own expressions to extract the data they want. The course will leverage Jupyter Notebook as well as a web-based resource to facilitate the learning process.

Objectives:

• Understand the fundamentals of regular expressions

• Learn the mechanics of regular expressions, including operators and logic

• Learn how to use regular expressions in Python

• Practice writing regular expressions to extract data

Prerequisites

No technical prerequisites are required, although a working knowledge of Python would be helpful.

Cost

This 4-hour course costs $225.
